The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded a grant of £43,700 to Newton Abbot Town & GWR Museum's Heart of Oak Project to save a magnificent, and historically important, 16th century carved wooden screen for future generations. The community-embracing conservation project has also attracted additional funding support, including £10,000 awarded by Ugbrooke Environmental Ltd, and generous donations from many others including the Golsoncott Foundation, The Ernest Cook Trust, the Claude & Margaret Pike Charity and County, District and Town Councillors.
